Windermere is the central location for touring the Lake District. The Glenburn Hotel and River Cottage are ideally situated within easy walking distance of the village, with its fine selection of shops, bistros and restaurants. A little further down the road brings you to Lake Windermere in Bowness. There you can take one of the many boat trips on offer, visit the Beatrix Potter museum or spend the day just browsing the wonderful shops. This is also where Parklands Country Club, our complimentary leisure club, is situated, which has something for everyone and every age. It's easy to get away from the crowds too, with stunning countryside just a short distance away. A private car park at the front and rear of the hotel provides ample free parking for all rooms and for those on foot the railway station is within easy walking distance. |

Directions
From the M6: Exit junction 36 and follow signs to Windermere on the A591. When you see the Windermere Hotel take the next left turning sign-posted "Windermere and Bowness on Windermere". Continue past the shops and carry on down New Road, heading towards Bowness and the lake. The hotel can then be found on the lefthand side just before the park and stone clock tower.
